Mobilizing in North Carolina

In North Carolina this week about two dozen American agents attended a training session to learn how to be successful union stewards and how to mobilize coworkers to support the Bargaining Team in its ongoing contract negotiations. The training took place in the Raleigh-Durham area on Thursday, May 21st.

Most of the members attending the training work in reservations offices and all are Legacy American agents. They’ve recently joined the CWA family and don’t have a contract yet.

We’re proud to say that almost 70 percent of the agents at the local reservations office have already signed membership forms, but we’re aiming for more. During the training participants developed a plan to sign up more members in the near future. And they brainstormed ways to engage members in activities to support the Bargaining Team.
